FAQ 26: Problems with multiple network cards

Category: Troubleshooting | Updated: 03/17/2011 10:49 AM

DNS Redirector v7 is supported with multiple network cards, assuming ListenOnIP= is set to one or more valid IP addresses that are assigned to the NICs (meaning ListenOnIP= should not be left blank and/or not set to the loopback address of 127.0.0.1)

The registry setting IPEnableRouter can be used, but DNS Redirector support cannot assist with this function.
Windows 2003: kb323339
Windows XP: kb315236

A bridged connection between two network cards, such as Windows 2000/XP's Internet Connection Sharing (or ICS) is not compatible with any version of DNS Redirector.
