FAQ 25: Broken images or links on the welcome page

Category: RedirectIP function | Updated: 06/17/2008 6:17 PM

After being redirected from a website or homepage, your welcome/splash page appears but images don't load or links to other pages don't work correctly.

Cause

You need to hard-code the full path to your images and links using the RedirectIP= in the URL.

Resolution

As an example, if RedirectIP=192.168.20.9 than an image src path must contain the full URL of "http://192.168.20.9/images/yourimage.gif" or a link to another page should be "http://192.168.20.9/page2.htm"

Avoid using relative paths like "/images/yourimage.gif"

This ensures compatibility regardless of the homepage the user has set in their browser.
