FAQ 108: Microsoft .NET Framework is required

DNS Redirector v7.2.0.11 is the latest and the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 is required, however the latest is .NET Framework 4.7.1

Resolution

Note: This is recommended
To install .NET Framework 4.7.1 see below...

1) Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.1

2) Restart your server (really, do restart even if the installer did not prompt you)

3) Download and install DNS Redirector


Note: If you have 4.7.1 (above), that version supersedes 4.6.1 so you do not need to install 4.6.1
To install .NET Framework 4.6.1 see below...

0.5) On a fresh install of Server 2008 R2, Service Pack 1 is required
or
0.5) On a fresh install of Server 2012 R2 the following are nessesary before .NET Framework 4.6.1 will install...
    1st) KB2919442
    2nd) KB2919355, which is several updates that must be done in the following order...
        2.a) clearcompressionflag.exe
        2.b) KB2919355
        2.c) KB2932046
        2.d) KB2959977
        2.e) KB2937592
        2.f) KB2938439
        2.g) KB2934018
    3rd) KB3102812, this fixes the Windows Update hangup issue, which you'll appreciate later when it's time to get updates for this server.

1) Download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1, if the progress bar appears to stall, wait it out, it will complete!

2) Restart your server (really, do restart even if the installer did not prompt you)

3) Wait for .NET optimization to finish

4) Download and install DNS Redirector
