FAQ 101: Client is instantly authorized, but that is not my intention

Category: RedirectIP function | Updated: 08/24/2011 11:56 AM

Every client who joins the network is immediatly marked as authorized.

Cause

The file specified for AuthKeywordsFile= contains blank lines or spaces between keywords.

If you are not using redirection (RedirectIP= and AuthKeywordsFile= are not defined) then it is normal that all clients are immediately authorized.

Resolution

Check that your authorized.txt file contains keywords on every line, or otherwise a comment (line starting with the ; character) If there are any blank lines or spaces in the file, including any trailing at the end, you will experience this behavior.

Add only domain names to this list, see FAQ 79 for help identifying domain names.

All keyword lists need to have at least one non-regex keyword present; at least 1 line not starting with ^
